[Youkai!Levi x Reader] Kitsune II [ProjectYoukai]

You had just finished preparing everything you would bring in your secret place. Cookies - check. Cup - check. Tea - check.

 

You could leave anything behind except for tea.

 

Your smile widened at the thought of the kitsune. You were visiting your secret place more often, bringing along different kinds of tea. He seemed to like every one of them. The pleased expression that washes over his face as he sipped on his tea was priceless, his ears perking and twitching every time.

 

You panted as you reached the familiar place. You were running, wanting to see the nine-tailed kitsune as soon as possible.

 

You noticed that he wasn't alone. A blonde woman - she's a kitsune too, you've noticed - was standing next to him, while he sat on his concrete podium. His back was turned to you. The female kitsune noticed your presence, her eyes widening in shock, all her three tails quivering.

 

"Levi-sama, a female human!" She said tugging on the male's hakama.

 

The male slapped her hands away. "I know. Unlike you, I caught on to her scent about an hour ago."

 

"Then, why aren't you doing anything, Levi-sama! She can see us!" The female whined.

 

"I know her, stupid." Levi stood up and faced in your direction, straightening the wrinkles of his hakama. "Now go back to your master. It's time for my tea."

 

"But..."

 

"Scram!"

 

The female kitsune jumped back in surprise. She gave you a look from head to toe and waved. You waved back to her, still confused at what was happening. Then, she disappeared in a puff of smoke.

 

After a long awkward silence, you asked while preparing the tea. "Uhhh... So... who's that?"

 

"None of your business," he answered, clearly still annoyed.

 

"Oh."

 

Levi noticed the hurt expression on your face. He clicked his tongue and sighed, running his hand on his black tresses. "She's a servant for another god deity. They were asking if I would like to come with them."

 

"Will I still be able to see you if you go with them?" The question left your lips without thinking. When he didn't answer, you immediately regretted what you asked.

 

"Sorry about that," you frantically poured tea on a cup, trying to ignore the heavy atmosphere and change the subject instead. You handed him the tea. "Today's tea is ---"

 

"You probably won't..." He finally decided to spoke up. His gray eyes scanned your face for any reaction as he drank his tea."...see me, that is."

 

Your heart quenched at the thought of not seeing him again. But it's for the better, right? He gets to be with his kind and even though you'll miss his company, you were not selfish enough to ask him to stay.

 

"Oi. What's with that look on your face?" His voice snapped you out of your thoughts as he poured more tea into his cup.

 

"Huh?" You didn't noticed that you were frowning the whole time. You sent him an awkward smile."Nothing, nothing. I was just thinking."

 

"Don't think too much then. You look horrible when you think." He jeered.

 

"Ouch, that stings, kitsune-sama." You playfully slapped his upper arm.

 

You would definitely miss these silly conversations, too. You looked up to the sky, feeling your eyes get teary.

 

"Don't cry. Don't cry. He'll think you’re stupid if you cry." You chanted to yourself.

 

Then, you felt something in your lap. The kitsune laid his head on your lap, his eyes closed. You looked down on him, bewildered by the sudden act of physical closeness. "What are you doing, kitsune-sama?"

 

“Sleeping,” he opened one of his eyes."What does it look like to you? And why do you keep on calling me kitsune-sama? I told you my name is Levi."

 

"Because you're kitsune-sama~" He sent you a cold glare and you resigned. "Okay okay. I'll call you Levi from now on. But can you please call me [Name]?"

 

"Fine," he closed his eyes again and mumbled, "What was that tea anyway? It made me so sleepy."

 

“Chamomile tea.” You chuckled softly when he let out a soft yawn, his ears twitching. "Hey, Levi."

 

"What now?" He grunted

 

"Can I touch your ears?"

 

He covered his eyes with the back of his hand, effectively covering the slight tinge of pink on his cheeks as well. "Tch, do what you want. If it’ll make you shut up."

 

Your eyes sparkled with excitement, you've been longing to touch his ears ever since you first met. You softly touched his black fluffy ears, stroking carefully as to not cause him any discomfort. Your fingers glided easily due to the softness of his fur.

 

Smiling sadly, you thought.

 

"I'll miss you, kitsune-sama."

Kitsune are said to have one up to nine tails. More tails = more power, more intelligence. In my fic, the female kitsune addressed Levi as '-sama' because he has more tails than her, indicating superiority of some sort.
